The Internet was ablaze this apocalyptic morning as more and more viewers pressed play on the new and very NSFW video for Calvin Harris’ sixth 18 Months single, ”Drinking From the Bottle.” The plot centers around, you guessed it, The Devil, who interacts with a number of individuals (including Harris and Tinie Tempah) throughout what ends up turning into a monologue inclusive, 5 minute and 34 second short film.
Ever wanted to hear all your favorite past, present, and future radio hits all in one place? Enter Calvin Harris’ 18 Months LP. This album is essentially mega-hit after mega-hit, separating tracks like “We Found Love,” “Let’s Go,” and “Feel So Close” with interludes like “Green Valley,” “Mansion” and “School.” To make sure things don’t get too pop though, Calvin carefully spreads out his “Iron” collab with Nicky Romero, “Awooga” and the new “Drinking From The Bottle” with Tinie Tempah among the “Sweet Nothing’s” and “I Need Your Love’s” for what turns out to be a great mix of styles.
Between the thoroughly rinsed melodies like “Bounce” and new found bangers like “Thinking About You” there is a lot to take in on 18 Months. At least 10 of the 15 are songs that either have or certainly will be blasting through your radio this Fall/Winter, and while that may throw a few hipsters for a loop, the album is actually quite amazing for what it is. Stream it below or on Calvin’s website, and find 18 Months out on October 29th/30th.
Chances are slim that you missed the powerful Ellie Goulding cover of Active Child’s “Hanging On” a couple of days ago. If you did, or even if you didn’t, you can now enjoy the spine-tingling Brit in visual form with the official video. Nothing too crazy, but I’m not complaining. Watch and download for free.

As if Frank Ocean’s Channel Orange wasn’t all you needed today, Ellie Goulding has gone and released “the beginning of her new journey,” in the form of this Active Child cover, “Hanging On.” Like a new genre of music was just created, the new track screams Ellie’s style, and the epic electronic approach is a snug fit for the closing verse from Tinie Tempah. If I had a category for must download now, “Hanging On” would be the first thing on the list.

R3hab has been on a massacre as of late, flat out murdering remixes with his over the top energetic chainsaw-synth style. His latest victim is Eric Turner’s “Angels & Stars,” which goes from a slow, electronic hip-hop track to an electro house heater guaranteed to tear up the dance floor. Combine this with his Taio Cruz remix and his upcoming “Calling” remix with Swanky Tunes and you can mark down R3hab as one of the hottest producers on the market right now.
