Must Hear: BANKS – Fall Over (Djemba Djemba Remix)
Never has there been a better occasion to say DAMN SON. Djemba Djemba just freaked on this new BANKS remix, that to put frankly, might just be the best future bass / trap song of the year.
Must Hear: Vicetone feat. Collin McLoughlin – Heartbeat (Original Mix) [Monstercat]
The Dutch duo of Vicetone have been behind a number of huge remixes over the last 8 months, but none may have a more lasting impact than their new original collaboration with talented New York vocalist Collin McLoughlin.
Released today on Monstercat, “Heartbeat” creates a perfect storm of anthemic production, emotive vocals, and just enough mainstream intuition a chart-topping EDM hit needs. It’s one of the most complete progressive house releases of the year thus far, and with the proper support, should become one of those tracks you hear everywhere in no time. Stream “Heartbeat” below and head over to Beatport to grab a copy.
Ellie Goulding – Explosions (Gemini Remix)
While dubstep may not be the hot genre in electronic music anymore, there’s still plenty of great sounds being produced in the 140 BPM range, and Gemini’s powerful new remix of Ellie Goulding’s “Explosions” is a great example. The title itself is great for a track with a massive drop, and Ellie’s voice seems to fit perfect with those cascading oscillations and heart-pounding bass kicks.
Always wanted to do Ellie Goulding. Didn’t hold back on this one. ♥
Right there with you man, I’ve always wanted to do Ellie too…
Release forthcoming on Polydor.
Video: The “Damn son, where’d you find this?!” Guy Has Finally Been Found
If you’ve ever listened to or even heard about trap music, chances are you’ve heard the “Damn son, where’d you find this?!” drop. After years of searching, the man behind that epic voice sample, Shadoe Haze, has been found.
This drop I did for a client years ago has been making it’s way around. I appreciate the love. *This drop was originally recorded on my studio mic with a tube pre-amp but this video is close enough on the audio (at least for the people that actually know what the hell they’re talking about).
Watch Shadoe’s video below, download the sample here, and check out his Facebook page for inquiries regarding that golden voice.
Lion Babe – Treat Me Like Fire (Star Slinger Bootleg Mix)
Instant winner from Star Slinger, who’s remixed Lion Babe’s debut single “Treat Me Like Fire” into well, fire. He crafts a beat that combines breakbeat tempo with a house vibe, allowing Jillian Hervey’s dreamy vocals to do the rest. A perfect Thursday tune to set up the weekend with.

Juicy J – One Of Those Nights (feat. The Weeknd)
The Weeknd brought his A-game for an extensive feature on Juicy J’s new single, “One Of Those Nights.” The spacey jam should live on Juicy’s upcoming Stay Trippy debut due out later this year. I’m all about this one, so listen and download below.
