Deadmau5 Previews Kill The Noise Collaboration, “Killthemau5”

deadmau5 killthemau5

This past week, Deadmau5 uploaded preview after preview of new music he’s been hard at work crafting in the studio. First we got the orchestral “Suite 03,” then came the Random Album Title-esque “Monophobia,” and now we’ve got the most extensive of the three, a back and forth collaboration with OWSLA cohort Kill The Noise, tentatively titled “Killthemau5.”

Must Hear: Deadmau5 – Strobe (Alesia Score Remix)

Deadmau5 - Strobe (Alesia Score Remix)

Having been released over 8 month ago, I’m a little confused as to how this unique score remix of “Strobe” from Alesia (the same Parisians who recently helped create “Bird Machine“) hasn’t been more widely covered.

Live Set: deadmau5 @ Ultra Music Festival (03-16-2013)

deadmau5 ultra 2013

Closing out what was an epic Day 2 at Ultra 2013 in Miami, the one and only deadmau5 stepped up to his cube and delivered a set for the ages. Complete with classics like “Raise Your Weapon,” “Ghosts N Stuff,” “The Veldt” and “Strobe,” the tracklist was near perfect, and right from the intro everyone knew we were in for something special.

Update: Complete Coachella 2013 Lineup Leak

coachella music festival 2013

UPDATE (4/13): Watch the live stream of Coachella weekend 1 here.

UPDATE (1/24): This poster is fake. For the official Coachella 2013 lineup, see HERE.

Following believable (kind of) news that Daft Punk, Phoenix, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and The Rolling Stones would be headlining Coachella next year, an entire 2013 lineup has surfaced featuring the aforementioned headliners along with Deadmau5, Missy Elliot, Lana Del Rey, Boys Noize, Fiona Apple, The Prodigy, Passion Pit and The xx and more. The dates have a similar format to last year, and include the weekends of April 12-14 and April 19-21.

Now, as you’ve likely noticed, Coachella rumors have been a trending topic throughout the blogosphere this year. What we do know for sure is that Coachella announced the official 2012 lineup on Monday, January 9th, meaning regardless if this leak is rumor or reality, the official 2013 details should be revealed shortly.

Hit the break to get your hopes up with the assumed 2013 Coachella lineup, and look for an update as this news circulates into the new year.

UPDATE 1: Archie, gLAdiator and Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman (among other artists) all came out and said they were NOT scheduled to play at Coachella this year, confirming what most of us feared: this lineup is (at least partially) fake. Sorry guys.

UPDATE 2: The Rolling Stones’ Mick Jagger denys Coachella 2013 rumors.

UPDATE (4/13): Watch the live stream of Coachella weekend 1 here.

UPDATE (1/24): This poster is fake. For the official Coachella 2013 lineup, see HERE.

Deadmau5 – album title goes here (Full Album Stream)

With all the constant ‘deadmau5 said this / deadmau5 said that’ chatter that goes around the dance music community on what seems to be a daily basis, it’s nice to actually focus on the music itself for once. In what is now his 6th studio LP, Zimmerman has delivered yet again, creating a work of electronic art that stays true to a sound he’s patented and perfected over the years. The cleverly named > album title goes here < features appearances from producer Wolfgang Gartner, vocalists Imogen Heap and My Chemical Romance’s Gerard Way, and even samples music from the 1977 film, Close Encounters of the Third Kind. Hit the break, forget the bull shit, and fall in love with Deadmau5 all over again.
