Ever wondered what Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding might look like as a couple? If the new video for “I Need Your Love” is any indication, they’d be pretty damn cute. Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on who you ask), the two are definitely not together in real life. Harris is rumored to be Russian model Anne V, while Goulding has moved on from Skrillex to actor Jeremy Irvine. Nevertheless, watch the two get romantic in a “we’re friends but I really want to fuck you” kind of way below.
Calvin Harris – I Need Your Love (feat. Ellie Goulding)
With all the hype surrounding what we can call the great disco revival of 2013, it’s nice to hear artists outside of Daft Punk attached to killer new tracks in the genre. In this case, Louis La Roche is one of those artists, and his remix of Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding‘s “I Need Your Love” is one of those killer tracks. Ridiculous summer vibes throughout, and there’s even a bit of those vocoded lyrics the robots are so known for. Must download.
After previously collaborating with DVBBS for a pretty solid remix of Cider Sky a few weeks back, LA’s Lovehaus is back with a new solo mix of Calvin Harris and Example’s “We’ll Be Coming Back.” If you’re a fan of the “Feel So Close” melody (who isn’t?), signs would indicate you’ll enjoy this remix, which more or less merges the two tracks for a danceable Calvin Harris bonanza. It could make for a worthy addition to your Saturday night playlists, so engage the free download below.
Just in time for New Years, your favorite party playlist has gone from tipsy to blackout with the addition of its absolutely insane second installment.
Like Part 1, Part 2 of Soundisstyle’s Essential Party Playlist runs through 60 tracks, spans nearly 5 hours, and is designed to mimic the natural progression of a party. It features a first half heavy in hip hop (i.e. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Kendrick Lamar & Kanye West), a small sprinkling of radio pop in the middle (i.e. Ke$ha, will.i.am & PSY), and a second half geared toward the electronic dance fan inside all of us (i.e. Calvin Harris, Zedd & Dillon Francis). Once you hit play, you’ll notice it really has a bit of everything and still flows like it was meant to be.
The download below is in .zip form, and includes all the music, the album and tracklist art, and an .m3u playlist file that should allow you to import the entire set to iTunes with one click. When I initially put the link on Facebook and Twitter it got over 1000 downloads in the first two hours alone, so take your peers advice and crank the volume on Soundisstyle’s Essential Party Playlist Part 2 after the break.
The Internet was ablaze this apocalyptic morning as more and more viewers pressed play on the new and very NSFW video for Calvin Harris’ sixth 18 Months single, ”Drinking From the Bottle.” The plot centers around, you guessed it, The Devil, who interacts with a number of individuals (including Harris and Tinie Tempah) throughout what ends up turning into a monologue inclusive, 5 minute and 34 second short film.
Ever wanted to hear all your favorite past, present, and future radio hits all in one place? Enter Calvin Harris’ 18 Months LP. This album is essentially mega-hit after mega-hit, separating tracks like “We Found Love,” “Let’s Go,” and “Feel So Close” with interludes like “Green Valley,” “Mansion” and “School.” To make sure things don’t get too pop though, Calvin carefully spreads out his “Iron” collab with Nicky Romero, “Awooga” and the new “Drinking From The Bottle” with Tinie Tempah among the “Sweet Nothing’s” and “I Need Your Love’s” for what turns out to be a great mix of styles.
Between the thoroughly rinsed melodies like “Bounce” and new found bangers like “Thinking About You” there is a lot to take in on 18 Months. At least 10 of the 15 are songs that either have or certainly will be blasting through your radio this Fall/Winter, and while that may throw a few hipsters for a loop, the album is actually quite amazing for what it is. Stream it below or on Calvin’s website, and find 18 Months out on October 29th/30th.
