Boys Noize – Ich R U (Justice Remix)

Boys Noize - Ich R U (Justice Remix)

For the 100th release on his own Boysnoize label, Boys Noize has snagged none other than Justice and The Chemical Brothers for remixes of his robotic Out Of The Black cut, “Ich R U.” The Justice mix takes the track down a nail biting, and at times, downright spooky path, churning it’s way to a mysteriously apocalyptic finale. Listen below and find it, along with The Chemical Brothers remix, out March 18th.

Update: Complete Coachella 2013 Lineup Leak

coachella music festival 2013

UPDATE (4/13): Watch the live stream of Coachella weekend 1 here.

UPDATE (1/24): This poster is fake. For the official Coachella 2013 lineup, see HERE.

Following believable (kind of) news that Daft Punk, Phoenix, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and The Rolling Stones would be headlining Coachella next year, an entire 2013 lineup has surfaced featuring the aforementioned headliners along with Deadmau5, Missy Elliot, Lana Del Rey, Boys Noize, Fiona Apple, The Prodigy, Passion Pit and The xx and more. The dates have a similar format to last year, and include the weekends of April 12-14 and April 19-21.

Now, as you’ve likely noticed, Coachella rumors have been a trending topic throughout the blogosphere this year. What we do know for sure is that Coachella announced the official 2012 lineup on Monday, January 9th, meaning regardless if this leak is rumor or reality, the official 2013 details should be revealed shortly.

Hit the break to get your hopes up with the assumed 2013 Coachella lineup, and look for an update as this news circulates into the new year.

UPDATE 1: Archie, gLAdiator and Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman (among other artists) all came out and said they were NOT scheduled to play at Coachella this year, confirming what most of us feared: this lineup is (at least partially) fake. Sorry guys.

UPDATE 2: The Rolling Stones’ Mick Jagger denys Coachella 2013 rumors.

UPDATE (4/13): Watch the live stream of Coachella weekend 1 here.

Dog Blood (Boys Noize x Skrillex) – Next Order / Middle Finger (Original Mixes)

After a somewhat surprising preview a few days ago, the Boys Noize + Skrillex superforce known as Dog Blood has released it’s debut offering. Consisting of “Next Order” and “Middle Finger,” the EP plays out as if Skrillex is trapped beneath a classic Boys Noize record, clawing his way to the surface and providing quick-hitting glimpses at his rowdy sound. Dog Blood is definitely a creative new project, and one can only hope it’s just the beginning.

Dog Blood (Boys Noize x Skrillex) – Next Order EP (Teaser Video)

Sonny Moore and Alexander Ridha have apparently teamed up under the new moniker “Dog Blood,” and are planning to release their work as a two track (“Middle Finger” and “Acid Terror) EP titled Next Order on August 13th. The speculation comes after both parties posted this teaser earlier today, and scheduled the fast approaching release date under OWSLA and Boysnoize Records. After pressing play on the video however, you immediately hear the presence of distinct Skrillex and Boys Noize sounds, so one can only assume.

For Boys Noize, this EP continues his string of EDM headlines, following a new album announcement, the release of “XTC,” and his appearance on the Diplo and Friends BBC Radio 1 Show. As for Skrillex, this is yet another example of an artists that was once pigeonholed into once particular sound diversifying his limits and trying/succeeding at new genres. I can’t wait for August 13th.

ULTRA (Playlist)

A few days ago, UMFTV put up their hour long movie recapping Ultra Music Festival in Miami. Not only was the production and content of the video first class, but the soundtrack for the film was equally as impressive. The 19 song setlist was a perfect encapsulation of the event, with music ranging across every genre of electronic from dubstep and drum & bass to thumping electro house to deep techno and electronica.

What I’ve done is taken the hour long tracklist within the video and extended it with the full versions of the songs to form a nearly 2 hour long playlist that basically doubles as an essential mix for Ultra Music Festival 2012. The flow from start to finish is perfectly aligned, and even the inclusion of “Levels” is so well timed it didn’t make me want to skip over it. Sometimes we lose sight of some of these older tracks in all the hype that surrounds new music, so it’s nice to go back and revisit a few favored classsics.

ULTRA is one of those playlists that will take you back to the exact time you first heard some of these tracks (i.e. Guetta’s “Little Bad Girl,” remember how epic it was when it came out?!), and is yet another notch on my long list of favorite SIS mixtapes. Make sure to actually watch the movie the songs come from (if you’ve read this far I’m not sure why you wouldn’t), and download the two part zip file of the 19 tracks below.
