Since his rise to fame as a mashup DJ, Milkman has made the oft-encouraged transition to original mix producer as good as anyone. Following the success of his 2012 Fragments EP, the Los Angeles-based musician has announced a new release, Machines and Dreams, part 1 of which is out June 28. Featured as the backing soundtrack to the album’s trailer, “Origins” is the Justice-esque first look at the Milkman’s new sound. Stream it below.

Written as a tribute to his father, Mayer Hawthorne‘s “Reach Out Richard” is the latest and greatest single off his forthcoming album, Where Does This Door Go. The self-described “yacht club” tune was produced by none other than Pharrell, who if you’ve been paying attention, has had his name attached to just about everything good in music this year.
This weekend’s Skrillex Essential Mix on BBC Radio 1 was home to a number of unreleased Dog Blood tracks, my favorite being this amped up remix of A$AP Rocky‘s Long.Live.A$AP cut, “Wild For The Night.” It takes one of this year’s great party songs and reimagines it as a raging acid-electro-rave-house beast in a way that, like everything we’ve heard from Dog Blood thus far, combines equal sounds from both Skrillex and Boys Noize. Jay-Z has teamed up with Samsung Galaxy to release his new album, Magna Carta Holy Grail. The 17-time Grammy award winner announced what is his twelfth studio LP in a commercial aired during game five of the NBA finals, which also revealed production features from Pharrell, Timbaland, Swizz Beatz, and Rick Rubin.
Coming in hot behind A-Trak, French electro wiz Surkin has offered his official remix of Kavinsky’s “Odd Look.” It takes a slightly less spastic but equally bouncy approach to the OutRun single, and provides another solid addition to the Odd Look EP, which according to Kavinsky is still “coming soon.” Take a listen below.

Following the popular “supergroup” trend in electronic music these days, Noisia has joined forces with Orifice Vulgatron and Metropolis of Foreign Beggars to form a new fivesome, I Am Legion. The two sides are no strangers to collaboration, having previously worked together on tracks like “Contact,” “Shellshock” and “No Holds Barred,” but now have a formal title to release music under.
