Daft Punk – Random Access Memories (Album Stream)
Yes, you are reading that correctly: Daft Punk – Random Access Memories (Album Stream). While I foreshadowed that Guy-Manuel and Thomas Bangalter had plans to stream their new record today through iTunes (which they will be doing later today), it seems the Internet has beat them to the punch and uncovered a full Random Access Memories leak. I tipped off the guys over at Fist In The Air, and we’ve got the full stream available (for likely a very short time) below. Before you listen, make sure you’ve pre-ordered Random Access Memories in digital or physical form here, and look for the official iTunes link going up in a few hours.
Forget Wee Waa, Early Reviews of Daft Punk’s ‘Random Access Memories’ Are Already In
It was anticipated that the first ears to hear Daft Punk‘s new Random Access Memories album would be situated in the rural town of Wee Waa, Austrailia, but a few lucky parties like MTV, NME, Digital Spy and FACT have already been provided with advanced listens of the wildly anticipated LP. Based off the unparalleled hype, one would expect early reviews to burst with nods of game-changing perfection, and while many flirt with that idea, my reviews of the reviews if you will are a little mixed.
Must Download: Gorilla Warfare Tactics – Zoology (Mixtape)
If Chance The Rapper’s Acid Rap flow didn’t quite suite your hip-hop needs today, the return of Gorilla Warfare Tactics on their new Zoology mixtape may be just the thing for you. Full of jazzy beats and boom bap raps, the album brings an extremely welcomed old school vibe, and includes the trio’s 2011 song “Dark Saber Jedi” alongside “drugDILLA,” “Zoology” and 7 new tracks (including a personal favorite of mine in the George Orwell-inspired “’84″).
Chance The Rapper – Acid Rap (Mixtape)
The mixtape everyone’s been waiting for, Chance The Rapper’s Acid Rap, is finally here. Since dropping the video for “Juice” back in January, the hip-hop blog buzz surrounding Chancelor Bennett reached new heights, and helped pin the talented Chicago rapper as one of the genre’s “next big things.”
Must Download: ODESZA – Summer’s Gone (Album)
I was recently (and rather randomly) introduced to ODESZA (the Washington based duo of Harrison Mills and Clayton Knight) through a remix of Beat Connection’s “Soala” that ended up in the latest edition of Free Music You Should Download Right Now. To say I had stumbled onto a goldmine would be the understatement of the year.
Daft Punk Breakdown Random Access Memories in Track by Track Review of Their Own Album
Daft Punk have taken the word hype to an entirely new level with the way they’ve gone about unveiling their 4th studio album, Random Access Memories. We got a small glimpse into its inspiration and creation when Guy and Thomas opened up to Rolling Stone, but outside of the now-released lead single “Get Lucky,” we really haven’t had any hints as to what the rest of the album might sound like…until now.
