The inevitable leak of Drake‘s Nothing Was The Same album has arrived, a full week ahead of its scheduled September 24 release. It serves as the Toronto rapper’s third studio full-length, and includes singles you should already know like “Started From The Bottom,” “Wu-Tang Forever” and “Hold On, We’re Going Home.” Also making the tracklist is the Fallon-premiered “Too Much,” the highly anticipated Jay Z collaboration “Pound Cake,” and the anthemic “All Me” featuring 2 Chainz and Big Sean.
This is nothing for the radio, but they’ll still play it though, cause it’s that new Drizzy Drake that’s just the way it go. – “Tuscan Leather”
Nothing Was The Same was primarily (and executively) produced by Drake’s right hand man Noah “40” Shebib, with additional production coming from Hit-Boy, Boi-1da, Mike WiLL Made It and Hudson Mohawke (among others). You’ll also find vocal features from the likes of Jhene Aiko, Majid Jordan, Detail, Sampha and Jay Z. As far as my initial highlights go, I’ll note “The Language” channels Drake’s viral “Versace” flow, “Too Much” sounds even better in CDQ, “Pound Cake” lives up to expectation (and samples Ellie Goulding!!!), and “Furthest Thing” is my dark horse favorite track.
