Delicately minimal. Playfully emotional. Unquestionably breathtaking. All of these things describe the complex seven minute journey that is Jamie xx’s new Four Tet remix. In this stripped down version of “Lion,” sound seems to fade in and out of complete nonexistence, leaving you to wonder what may emerge from the darkness next. At it’s playful beginnings, the mood is almost as if you’re trapped in a cave level of Super Mario Bros., but once the song hits full stride, it transforms into something too beautiful for words.
