Party Rocking Put On Hold, LMFAO Calls It Quits

It’s official party rockers, LMFAO is no more. In an interview with earlier today, Redfoo said he and his nephew SkyBlu were parting ways to focus on their own professional and personal interests.

I feel like we’ve been doing this for so long, five or six years. And we’re kind of like saying, well, let’s just do what’s natural and just kind of explore that, instead of like forcing it all the time. – Redfoo

Sounds a lot like Steve Angello’s explanation for Swedish House Mafia ending their illustrious run, only in LMFAO’s case, the public reaction is sure to be quite different.

As for the future of LMFAO’s individual careers, Redfoo said his new music won’t be too different from singles like “Sexy And I Know It” and “Party Rock Anthem,” and he’s even got an upcoming track made specifically for the New England Patriots (uhh…what?).

All the music that I’m going to make is always going to be LMFAO-ish … I love all the topics that we talk about. I was really passionate about bringing party music to the world, so I will always be making some kind of party music.

I guess we’ll have to wait and see…
