Swedish House Mafia – Greyhound (Rule of Eight Bootleg)

If you thought Swedish House Mafia’s “Greyhound” was a little too soft for your electro hardened ears, then 23 year-old Oklahoma native Blake Bratcher has your solution. Under the moniker Rule of Eight, Blake has been pumping out a variety of electronic tunes for the better part of 8 months on his SoundCloud account, and his “Greyhound” remix is his latest product. It keeps a lot of the progression that you’re accustomed to on the original, but adds in a more consistent drum beat and a much grittier electro drop to give the track a different feel. If you like what you hear be sure to hit up his SoundCloud at the bottom because he’s got a lot more similar stuff tucked away on there.

Preview: Tiësto & Wolfgang Gartner – We Own The Night (feat. Luciana)

“We Own The Night” is another preview off Club Life Vol. 2: Miami, except this one comes direct from Tiesto’s YouTube channel. With the help of Wolfgang Gartner and some great vocals from Luciana, Tiesto’s definitely got another banger on his hands. The track features some squeaky higher pitched synths that come in at about 1:00 on the video that give the song a foreign, and very danceable feel that I’m in love with and really characterize the song for me. Club Life Vol 2. comes out in full on April 24th, and you can be sure it’s going to be the album of the summer.

Preview: The Naked & Famous – Young Blood (Tiesto & Hardwell Remix)

Tiesto and his protege Hardwell team up for this outstanding remix of “Young Blood” by The Naked & Famous, which is off Tiesto’s upcoming Club Life Vol. 2: Miami album. It’s another preview that dropped at Ultra, and lands closer to the lighter, more uplifting side of these guys production. You can check out the full tracklist for the album on my post for “Chasing Summers.”

Dotcom – Eyes On The Prize (Mashup Mixtape)

A guy I’ve supported since the beginning, Chris Comstock, aka Dotcom, is making his Fratmusic backed re-entry to the mashup game with his new Eyes On The Prize mixtape. It’s certified party ready and comes packed with 10 mashes including everything from classic rock to the hardest of dubstep, all arranged under a long list of recognizable vocals. If you’re at all a fan of mashups, you’re going to want to skip right down to the download.

Simon Shout – Optimus (Original Mix)

After making quite a reputation for himself with an array of solid house remixes, Simon Shout is now making a bit of a transition to some original production. His last effort, “Lycka,” was a bit more on the progressive style, while this new track “Optimus” is acid/electro themed and really brings some power and strong basslines. I do have to agree with a few of the comments on the track saying that it’s incredibly similar to “Lunar” from David Guetta & Afrojack on the drops, but there are still many other elements that separate the two pieces.

Thand feat. Rami – Ambush (Original Mix) + Delighter (Original Mix)

Mattias Thand is back after a glorious remix of “Together” with a new original track “Ambush,” featuring the vocal talents of Rami. It starts off slow to set the mood before erupting into a euphoric kick drum/synth one-two punch that will instantly lift your spirits. The second half breaks down into a harder “fist-pumpier” electro beat, and from what it sounds like this is only a snippet of the full song. Also attached is a gem I somehow missed on his SoundCloud after posting him the first time. It’s another original, and it’s got all the piano melody Swedish spirit you could ask for.
